Tune4TheDay

As music is such a passion of mine, I'd like to create an ongoing soundtrack to my life. So, here it goes. I'll be posting a song each day that inspires me, fits my mood, or just gets me wanting to dance. Hopefully, you can find inspiration here, too, along with discovering new artists. Enjoy!

Ask me about tunes and suggest a song

Rock it out, Tuesday! I can’t get enough of these Chicago-based, indie-dance dudes. Woot!

Artist: Gemini Club

Album: Here We Sit

Tune: “Sparklers”

Lyrics:

I don’t know or understand

you say it’s hard right now.
It’s in my head.
Spending all my time.
Keep you wide awake.
It’s hard to know the ending yet,
because your heart,
right now,
is in my hands.
And it’s all I know,
it’s all I can keep safe.
So drive off the freeway,
that wouldn’t kill you,
it would only ease your worried mind.
And take all your money
I told you to spend it,
you’ll never need anything.
You and I.
Climb every night in your burning tree.
and keep you head up tight
with your broken needs.
And keep your guard up now,
and you’ll only see it’s not the fighting time.
Don’t go retreat.
When you climb every night on your frozen peak,
keep your eyes on mine with your broken needs
and keep your arms up high,
so that I can see the light.
So drive off the freeway,
that wouldn’t kill you,
it would only ease your worried mind.
And take all your money
I told you to spend it,
you’ll never need anything.
You and I.
Waiting on my own,
waiting all this time.
And won’t you tell me what I know,
tell me what I want
and tell that will never change
that will never change
you’ll turn your back again.
Turn your back again.
Never leave me all alone,
leave me like you did
and won’t you tell me what I know
tell me what I want
and tell that will never change
that will never change
you’ll turn your back again.
Turn your back again.
So drive off the freeway,
that wouldn’t kill you,
it would only ease your worried mind.
And take all your money
I told you to spend it,
you’ll never need anything.
You and I.

Do I stick to my financial savings goals for 2014, or, do I buy more concert ticket? How can a girl say NO to buying Lord Huron tickets for when they are here in Denver on Feb. 21 at The Ogden? I can’t resist!!!!!!!! #FirstWorldProblems

Seriously though, I’ve had the Lonesome Dreams album on a loop for the last two weeks. Check out my previous post for the title track, “Lonesome Dreams,” and then enjoy the WHOLE ALBUM like I do.

Well, hello there Monday. Let’s say Goodbye to any #CaseOfTheMondays by kicking off the week with this catchy tune from none other than The Hellogoodbyes.

Hopefully, we’ll see more Tour Dates from The Hellogoodbye peeps post soon so we can all dance our tails off in person to the whole Everything Is Debatable album.

Artist: Hellogoodbye (not to be confused with The Oh Hello’s)

Album: Everything Is Debatable

Tune: “(Everything Is) Debatable”

Lyrics (thanks to AZLyrics):

I was frozen there
Paralyzed and floating in the air
Or I thought
Cause no one really knows
I couldn’t stop

So I wanted her
To feel the breeze
Just blowing through the trees
A ghost
Of something in our love we don’t yet know

It’s such an arbitrary line that we dance
We waited centuries to throw up our hands
It’s such an arbitrary line that we dance
We dance we dance
Oh everything is debatable
everything is debatable

So I waited there
Burdened by some things I shouldn’t have
Cared about
I brushed them off
And dug my heart back out

It’s such an arbitrary line that we dance
We waited centuries to throw up our hands
It’s such an arbitrary line that we dance
We dance we dance
Oh everything is debatable
everything is debatable

I seem kinda strange
I saw the other side
Floating around in the room
I realized
You thought I’d look the same
Despite some flashing lights
Floating around over you

It’s such an arbitrary line that we dance
We waited centuries to throw up our hands
It’s such an arbitrary line that we dance
We dance we dance
Oh everything is debatable
I saw the other side
The other side and beyond, oh
Everything is debatable
Everything is debatable

Everything is debatable
Debatable
Everything is
